I’m not a man…yet. I’m trying to become one, and also trying to become One. I see this as the only worthy task.
The rest is… nothing. (Silence.)
Idries Shah, in Seeker after Truth, writes:
‘Q: What is a fundamental mistake of man?
A: To think that he is alive, when he has merely fallen asleep in life’s waiting-room.’
Man, me, I… all are singular terms that attempt to define a complexity beyond imagination, but because a man is called such, this does not imply he has yet become one.
Who am I? Where am I going? What am I doing? (Besides writing and re-reading these lines, of course.)
If mankind has a purpose, that purpose should be constant and conscious evolution. But this cannot be done alone. Trust and seek, seek and trust. Trust and you shall see.
